Feline Friends - How do I foster a cat?

How Fostering Works:

Feline Friends Foster Homes are the most important people in our organisation. They provide a safe haven for our cats and kittens who have often had a difficult journey to get there. We always require more long and short term foster homes, as we can only help those we have space for.

Our foster homes provide love, attention, food and litter for our cats and kittens. FF takes care of the medical expenses, all we ask is that you get them to the veterinarian for their appointments.

We do have a small pool of drivers available so please don’t be put off if you don’t have a car.

When vacation time comes around, if Kitty is unable to stay in your home, we will arrange for him to holiday at another foster home.

Of course, our aim is to find new “forever homes” for our furry friends, and our foster parents play a big part in this. We will contact you from time to time to discuss potential adoptive families for your foster cat. We appreciate that you know Kitty best of all and so are guided by your advice as to which family would be the best for him or her.

Viewings are generally held in Kitty’s foster home. This is a time for Kitty to meet his potential new family and see how they get along. Viewings can also be done at the veterinary clinics but as you can appreciate, Kitty often doesn’t show off his true potential in this environment. Appointments are always made at a time convenient for the foster family and a Homing volunteer can be on hand for advice.

So – do you think you could open your home to make a huge difference to the lives of the fantastic felines in our city?
