An Hour in the FF Room
My husband and I went and volunteered a little time today at the FF room in the GVC. The cats were happy to be let out to play for the hour that we were there. Each very different but all so sweet and endearing.
We were greeted by a cacophony of Meows as we opened the door to the FF room. The room had already been cleaned so it was lovely and fresh and we were not greeted by unsavoury smells!
Dibba, Mitten and Pinto all black and white teenage cats around 6 months old were very energetic. Actually the word crazy did come to mind as we watched them playing. They jumped, slapped, attacked and stalked each other in play and even climbed up the sides of the cages in their exuberance!
Poor Sprite an older gorgeous all white domestic short hair just tried to stay out of their way for a start. She just found a nice quiet corner to just sit and watch all the goings on. After a few minutes her tail started to twitch and she started by giving the 3 young cats a little slap here and there as they went past her. Eventually she also started running around and whooping it up with the 3 crazies.
Maxy (female) and Paddy (male) both gorgeous Tabbies were very reserved as we let them out with that rambunctious lot! Maxy jumped up on the top of the cat scratcher immediately. This allowed her to look out of the window and also look down at the rest of the cats and spy anyone who might try and make a surprise attack on her.
Paddy was happy watching for a while then he wandered into the bathroom. After a couple of minutes I went to see what he was up too. I found him with his head and both front paws in the toilet! He was investigating and trying to fish out the toilet paper he had found in there! He looked up at me as if to say "It wasn't me. I'm innocent."
Mickey and Murphy two beautiful big boys could only be let out on their own as they were new to the FF room and were still not comfortable being out with the rest of the gang. But they had a lovely time going to the front of each cage and looking in on the cats that were back in their cage.
The older cats really tried to ignore the younger cats but Dibba, Pinto and Mitten just irritated and annoyed them into giving in and enjoying themselves and having fun.
