Aminah entered Feline Friends as a Cat Cuddler at the American Veterinary Clinic four years ago. At that time she had one cat of her own, Blue Eyes. Within months she had adopted Paige and Banksy from Feline Friends. Aminah then moved onto cat cuddling at the British Veterinary Centre, where she was recruited to work in the Pet Transport Section of the BVC.

Although now in a full time employed position at the BVC, Aminah continued to volunteer with Feline Friends, in particular on the Homing and Fostering Section. Somehow she managed to bring a few extra black cages into the Pet Transport Department, during the summer months, to give much needed respite to FF during their peak demand period. It was a case of cats here, cats there and cats absolutely everywhere in the BVC that summer (including hiding a few in some bathrooms!!!). She was also instrumental in the homing of about 200 animals during this time.

Soon afterwards Aminah became the Manager of the BVC, and stepped down from her FF role, although she was soon helping the BVC with their dog adoptions and FF with their cats again. Her expertise was in the Arabic language, she could bridge gaps the rest of us could not. She spread the FF doctrine, STERILIZE, STERILIZE, STERILIZE in every language she could. She continued to help FF in Arabic surrenders and giving Arabic advice to new FF cat owners.

Upon leaving her job with the BVC, Aminah stepped up as Homing and Fostering Coordinator. At that time she also began to foster cats….. Onyx, Gafoofy, Juliette, Tipsy, Blue Eyes, Miss Molly, Spice, Chocco and Latte all got fostered and Aminah’s cuddles and care. Sadly Aminah left FF in June of this year to join her husband in the US. Her three cats safely travelled to San Jose with her and she has now settled down volunteering in a local cat shelter. Currently job hunting, she is destined to take up a position working with animals. Her sixth sense when it comes to animals is second to none.
